Recipes - "Food & Dinner Plates"
Plate gifts Questions, questions One is “what do you like to cook?” Another question is “what
is the best way to serve it?” For many people, the presentation
of a dinner is just as important as the dinner itself and plates play
an important part in this. But, that doesn’t mean it has to be formal,
expensive plates. Many new couples starting out are choosing more casual,
functional dinnerware. When you are purchasing plates, try to pick something that will go with everything else in your kitchen. If you choose plates with dainty red roses and the rest of your kitchen is green, it might not be a good combination. If your kitchen is modern, you want to avoid fancy, formal plates. Theme things It is important to keep an overall theme. Be sure to pick a pattern that
can grow with you. Many times, patterns are discontinued and then it is
hard to find additional plates or replacements. Remember to check to see
if the plates are safe for the microwave, oven, and dishwasher. Some can
only be hand washed and you may want to avoid those if you do not like
washing dishes. Once you have picked a pattern for your plates, you need to decide how
many you will need to purchase. If it is just you and your spouse and
you do not do much entertaining, you can probably get by with a set of
four plates. However, if you have a big family and like entertaining,
you may want to consider a set anywhere from 6 to 12 plates to make sure
you have enough for everyone. The final thing to think about is what type of plates you need. Of course,
you need dinner plates, but you may also want to consider purchasing lunch
or salad plates. You will also want at least one large plate, known as
a platter, to serve large items. Some plate brands even offer specialized
plates such as those for pizza or bread. |
