Recipes - Bread Making Machines

What does it do?

Versatile

Many people think bread making machines are just for loaf bread, but you can make many different types of bread items. You can make cornbread, biscuits, pizza crust, muffins, and scones in addition to fruit breads, wheat breads, and other types of tasty breads. You can even make homemade hamburger buns! No matter what meal you are eating – breakfast, lunch, dinner or a snack – you can use your bread making machine to make that meal special. And, bread making machines don’t require a lot of work on your part. For the most past, you put the ingredients in the machine, watch it a few minutes as it kneads the dough, then you can go relax while it does the work for you.

Considerations before buying

When you go to purchase a bread making machine, there are things you want to think about before you make your decision. In the past, the more expensive machines tended to perform better, but now, even the inexpensive machines will make great bread. If you are new to bread making, you may want to purchase an inexpensive machine to start. Then if you find you love making breads, you can upgrade to one of the more expensive machines with more bells and whistles.

What to look for

The basic things you need to look for in a bread making machine is a white bread or basic cycle, a manual or dough cycle, and a timer. Check to see if the bread machine has a preheat cycle. If it does, make sure it is a short amount of time (like 5 – 10 minutes). Some machines can take up to 45 minutes to preheat. Also, check the time on the white bread cycle. It should be no more than three hours.

Finally...

Purchasing a bread making machine can completely change your cooking routine. You may find yourself making so many yummy, fresh baked goodies; you need to give them away to family and friends.
